Application Instructions

To further the goal of preserving and enhancing our tree canopy, the Irvington Tree Team, in conjunction with the Irvington Neighborhood Association, has limited funds to assist neighborhood residents with street-tree-related expenses.

Approved expenses include:                            

  • Removal of dead or dying trees                        
  • Stump grinding                           

Grant amounts will vary, depending on the following factors:

  • Financial constraints of the property owner     
  • Disabilities or other obstacles  
  • Length of residence in Irvington
  • General benefit to the neighborhood
  • Total number of requests for assistance

Each application should be accompanied by a quote from a certified arborist, outlining the scope of work and total expense.  If you need assistance in finding an arborist,  the nonprofit organization Friends of Trees has a list of qualified arborists online: www.friendsoftrees.org/learn/arborists
